MSHALE: Golden Yellow & Turquoise Striped Woven Sisal Runner

All of the Basket room’s sisal rugs are woven on a hand loom by the Basket room’s artisan partner Bernard, in his workshop in rural Kenya. The Basket room’s handwoven floor mats are woven from sisal, a fibrous grass. After the leaves are split, rolled and hand dyed, Bernard carefully works the fibres through his loom, creating a fine, flat, and strong weave.
