Pure Red Line Crystal Shrimp | PRL

You will receive Pure Red Line shrimp, also known as PRL. The shrimp you will receive will be sub-adults, having a size of around half of an inch (.5 inches). The dwarf shrimp generally range from S to SS grade in pattern.

The Pure Red Line Crystal Shrimp (PRL) was introduced into the US market in early 2014. What separated PRL from normal crystal red shrimp was the fact that they were pure. Meaning, they had never been bred with golden bee shrimp to enhance the shrimp coloration. It is common practice for crystal breeders to use golden shrimp to enhance the overall white coloration of their crystal colonies. Therefore, PRL were developed through selective breeding over many generations.

We breed pure red line shrimp while also importing some. The ones we breed favor a little harder of water while the imported PRL seem to do best in softer water. Although, the following parameter will work for both options.
